Staff are seeking public input regarding water access and future amenities in the Echo Bay area on Fairy Lake by means of an online survey and public meeting. Residents are encouraged to attend the public meeting on Wednesday April 12 at 6:00pm in the Active Living Centre to connect with staff, gather public input and ideas in-person.

Background:
In October of 2021, a crib, dock and stairs located on the road allowance at the end of South Fairy Lake Rd. were identified as hazardous and posted to be removed by the municipality. After the posted deadline of notice had passed (November 12, 2021) the municipality had the structures that were deemed unsafe, removed.
The municipality owns two pieces of waterfront land in this general vicinity which will be options for public water access:
Site A: the road allowance that leads to water at the end of South Fairy Lake Road
Site B: 255 Echo Bay Road, aka, Tyland Park
Next Steps:
Results from the survey, and ideas and information obtained at the public meeting, will be shared via a report brought forward in April for Council consideration.
