Do I need to do anything with the town if I do not wish to renew my short term license(s).

Heather asked about 2 years ago

If the property is no longer being used for short-term rental then all advertising must be removed and a quick email to building@huntsville.ca would be appreciated.

Do we need a license to rent out a small camper trailer on our property?

Devon asked about 2 years ago

Thank you for asking, no campers, trailers or tents are allowable to be rented.

Hello; I need to know whether or not I need to collect the 4% MAT on cleaning fees as well as the room rental. Thank you.

Lucy Claire asked almost 3 years ago

Thank you for the question, the 4% is to be applied to only the room rental amount. Items that are charged separately such as internet, parking or cleaning would be itemized separately and the 4% would not be charged on those items.

When do we begin to collect MAT?

Joann asked over 3 years ago

Thank you for your question, the Town requires Short-Term Rental Accommodation hosts to charge and collect the 4% MAT on a guests stay on all bookings moving forward if you have not already been doing so. A representative from ORHMA will be in touch with you in the coming weeks to discuss the collection and remittance process.

It would be much appreciated if the members of town council would consider allowing owners/operators of short term rentals to remit the MAT on a quarterly basis.

Thank you for the comment and it will be forwarded to Economic Development.
