The Community Wayfinding Strategy has been completed! Thank you for your input and engagement during this project!
We have completed our Community Wayfinding Strategy!
Staff brought forward the Final Wayfinding Strategy via report DEV-2022-12 at the January 2022 General Committee. Council accepted recommendations within the strategy and directed staff to install wayfinding signage, pending budget considerations, for each Circuit as outlined in the Strategy, starting with Circuit A.
The Town of Huntsville is undertaking a Community Wayfinding Strategy and have retained Stempski Kelly Associates to the complete the Strategy.
Community Wayfinding is signage or markers that help guide people through a community to places of interest or importance, enhancing their understanding and experience in a Town. These signage systems assist individuals in simplifying their routes around a community, helping them get to their desired destinations as easily as possible.
This project will lay the foundation for the implementation of a new Wayfinding System in Huntsville and will produce the following:
Identification of key community wayfinding assets;
Creation of map identifying proposed site locations for wayfinding signs along with what will be identified on each sign;
Outline of costs of fabrication and installation of signs; and
Draft designs for wayfinding signs
After initial public consultation and stakeholder input, Stempski Kelly Associates have put together a few design options and examples of what Huntsville’s wayfinding signage could look like and the Town of Huntsville would like your feedback.
