Community Planning Permit By-law

We are pleased to report that Town of Huntsville Council passed the Town of Huntsville Community Planning Permit (CPP) By-law (By-law 2022-97) on July 25, 2022!!!

The Notice of Passage for this By-law, and the CPP By-law itself (By-law 2022-97) can be viewed on this page.

When in force and effect, the CPP By-law will implement the policies of the Town's Official Plan through a Community Planning Permit System and address zoning amendments, minor variances and site plan agreements under one application. The By-law is general in nature and applies to all lands within the Town of Huntsville.

Please note that the CPP By-law is on the Planning Committee Agenda for July 13, 2022, for adoption. Although no Public Meeting will be held respecting the Final Draft of the CPP By-law, members of the public wishing to make a deputation to the Committee respecting this separate agenda item may register to do so by filling out a Deputation Request Form.

The Town of Huntsville is holding a Public Open House to discuss Official Plan Amendment #1 (OPA 1) respecting Community Planning Permit (CPP) By-law Implementation Matters. The proposed OPA includes minor technical amendments to the Official Plan to enable implementation of the CPP By-law. The Open House will be held in Partner’s Hall at Town Hall (1st floor), from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on July 5^th, 2022.

A Public Meeting regarding the proposed OPA will also be held in Council Chamber’s at Town Hall (3^rd floor), at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 13^th, 2022.

A VIRTUAL PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE will be held Tuesday April 19, 2022 (REVISED DATE), from 6pm to 8pm - To provide the public with an opportunity to review and ask questions about the draft CPP By-law. This meeting will be held as a virtual meeting using a ZOOM Webinar forma and a link and participation instructions are posted at www.huntsville.ca/PC

A IN PERSON PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE will be held Thursday April 21, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm, at Partners Hall, Town Hall, 37 Main St E, Huntsville, ON - To provide the public with an opportunity to review and ask questions about the draft CPP By-law.

A PUBLIC MEETING with be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 6pm, at the Algonquin Theatre, Town Hall, 37 Main St E, Huntsville, ON - To provide the public with an opportunity to offer comments to Planning Staff and Council on the draft CPP By-law.

Members of the public wishing to comment on the draft CPP By-law are encouraged to make a written submission any time prior to the public meeting using the contact information indicated on this page. The Town of Huntsville has posted the Community Planning Permit By-law Draft Background and Direct ions Report. Staff will be seeking community feedback on directions outlined in this report throughout January & February 2021 and will use this information to finalize the report.
